Strategical buyer is looking for the differtent kind of companies:
1> PROJECT DEVELOPMENT (PD): definition of the scope and business case (technical and commercial), the design, construction, maintenance and operation together with customers. These companies are able to understand a customer’s situation and needs, and translate these into a technical and commercial solution and realise this solution. It’s no problem if a large part of the design, construction and/or maintenance will be done by third parties. We are not looking for small consulting firms or real estate development companies who focus solely on project development. Size: 5-15 employees, > € 35 million annual turnover. Preferably companies that do both project development and TAM; companies that have contracts and assets.
2> ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF ENERGY PROJECTS(EPC): technical design (basic and detailed engineering), procurement of components, materials and services and the construction of the (renewable) energy installation. For e.g. companies active in engineering and contracting of mid size (2-50 MW) distributed generation plants, specifically sustainable energy production and cogeneration plants (CHP). Size: 30 – 50 employees, € 20 – € 100 million turnover. Preferably total service: also electrical engineering, procurement, construction.
3>TECHNICAL ASSET MANAGEMENT(TAM): the technical maintenance of an energy installation, energy management and operation, asset management and in some case operation of the energy installation. The company can be responsible for the proper operation and performance of the technical installations, but will not be responsible for the commercial exploitation of these installations. Also can they be responsible for the delivery and/or procurement of energy, but will not take any risk on the energy price. Size: 20 – 50 employees, € 2 – € 15 million turnover.
